How We Price, and What We Talk People Out Of

You get a firm number before anything starts, and that number is what appears on the invoice. If we open something up and find a genuine surprise we stop and show you rather than adding it at the end. A price that gets revised once somebody is already on your roof is the oldest trick in this trade.

More useful is what we routinely tell people not to buy:

• A cleaning schedule you do not need. Three visits a year makes sense under heavy fir and cedar. On an open lot with nothing tall near the roofline, once is genuinely enough, and we would rather say that than sell a subscription.
• Repairs on failed fascia. Re-hanging a gutter into timber that no longer holds a screw fails again within a season. That is carpentry, not gutter work, and there is nothing in it for us either way - which is rather the point.
• The wrong guard. Under conifer, screens and louvres pass needle straight through and leave you with a packed gutter you can no longer reach. Micro-mesh or nothing.
• Foam inserts, ever, in this climate. They hold water in the trough through a wet Pacific Northwest winter and needle roots into them. We remove far more than we fit.
